Course Overview
The Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health programme offered at FAJAR is a part-time open and distance learning (ODL) undergraduate programme, which is designed for those who are working or OSH professionals, who are both practicing and experienced at either management or technical level.
The program will expand your knowledge and skills in a variety of disciplinary approaches. This programme differs from other programmes, which integrate OSH and management perspectives. The programme has strengths in a number of areas including OSH management, OSH legislation, Occupational Health and Hygiene and Occupational Safety. Our Program incorporates experiential learning concepts with project-based learning and provides hands-on experience, ensuring students graduate with “real-world” experience.
The Fajar Advantage
This is the only Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (ODL) program which gains recognition from DOSH, besides MQA accreditation, in East Malaysia.
*As such, the graduates can register themselves as “Safety & Health Officer” (SHO) with DOSH upon completion with three years of relevant working experience.
*Our graduates can obtain their “Site Safety Supervisor” (SSS) after attending module 6 (construction safety) course.
Entry Requirement
Prossess Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with pass in Bahasa Melayu and English including three credits in the following subjects:
- Mathematics or one Science subject (Biology/ Physics / Chemistry / General Science)
and - Any other two subjects (including Bahasa Melayu and/or English)
OR
General Certificate or Education (CCE) O-Level or equivalent with pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English including three credits (Grade C) in the following subjects:
- Mathematics or one Science subject (Biology/ Physics / Chemistry / General Science)
and - Any other two subjects (including Bahasa Melayu and/or English)
OR
Certificate related to Health Sciences with minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CCPA) 2.50
